Fault in the measurement channel using a pulse encoder for digital speed detection
DC drive
Meaning: (Valid in all operating states.) 1. Encoder cable fault: An encoder cable fault (transition of the 1 signal to 0 or of the 0 signal to 1) causes the evaluation circuit to signal a change in direction of rotation. Frequent changes in direction of rotation occur only near speed 0. If, at speed ≥ 48 rev/min and EMF > threshold (see below), evaluation of 10 consecutive pulse encoder signals detects a "change in direction of rotation", 2. Pulse encoder damaged: The fault message is activated if EMF > threshold (see below) and evaluation of 10 consecutive pulse encoder signals detects "undesirable characteristics" (i.e. frequent changes in direction of rotation, edges too close together, an encoder cable fault, or a short circuit between two encoder cables). Possible fault causes: Interference related to EMC in the pulse encoder signals (terminals 28 to 31); pulse encoder damaged; encoder cable broken; one encoder cable
