Overvoltage while stopped
AC motor drive
Meaning: Overvoltage occurred while the AC motor drive was stopped.
Possible causes
- Supply voltage too high
- A power factor correction capacitor is being switched within the same power supply system.
- Action
- Switching of a power factor correction capacitor or operation of an SCR converter in the same power supply system may cause a brief, abnormally sharp rise in input voltage. Install a AC reactor.
- Malfunction due to interference
- Hardware fault
- (Voltage detection hardware circuit error)
- Motor ground fault
- The ground fault current flows through the power supply and charges the main circuit capacitor inside the AC motor drive. Check the motor power cable, wiring box, and connection terminals inside the wiring box for ground faults.
